Welcome!
I am excited to share with you my passion and hope that it becomes something you love as well - sewing and design! Design was modeled to me as a young child in many ways, it then became a part of my profession as a FACS (family and consumer sciences) teacher. Now, as a mom of young children, I enjoy design - whether its crafting or decorating - as an outlet and hobby!
My mom is a crafter. A seamstress. A quilter. She comes up with the most creative things - and she can figure out how to [re]create just about anything. Every time we get in the car for a long ride (1 hr or more) she brings along a STACK of magazines and a binder with empty page protectors. You'll find her flipping through the magazines and tearing out things that catch her eye to add to her binder. She is the most creative person I know. But most importantly, my mom is a woman who loves very deeply and so genuinely. And you can't help but see the love of Jesus shining through her. She teaches high school students and the kids just flock to her. Who wouldn't? She praises her students and loves them right where they are. And she was ten times the mother she is a teacher. I have her to thank for my love of fabric and for sharing the excitement of a completed project!
For the past couple years I have been selecting fabrics and sewing throw pillows for a great antique store in town, called The Cottage (check out their blog under information tab then select visit our blog). I am thankful to have the opportunity to continue to sew for the shop, and in addition begin to offer sewing classes to locals who are wanting to learn!
Every two months, I plan to have a featured family {a post will be on the blog} who is in the process of adopting a child. A portion of the proceeds from the classes held during those months will go to that family.
